ASW11 Recap, yeah I know its late but I been busy….

Feb 17, 2011

I decided to fly in a couple days early to Vegas. I typically like to fly in early to shows and fly out a day or two after. Flying in on friday night. The day started off sucking because of the weather on the east coast and the snow storm that friday delayed my plane for 6 hours. basically instead of getting into vegas around 10am we got in around 7pm. My parents flew in from hawaii and picked me up from the airport and we headed to the hotel. I got a great deal on the hotel at the mirage and stayed for 6 nights for under 500 bucks, I love how I can find deals like that.

Friday night I ended up catching the Love show and it was absolutely amazing, there is so much going on that I want to see it again. They said that if you saw it 10 times in a row there would still be new things that you hadn’t see before. My most favorite part was the little tricycles and the yellow boots. After the love show Justin from ECM and a couple other firends met at the house of blues and we grabbed something to eat. After we talked a bit and everyone running off every 10 mins for a smoke break decided to call it a night and head to bed.

On Saturday we all went out for dim sum for lunch at one of the best dim sum places in Vegas, the spread was nice and the food was pretty spot on for chinatown in nyc. After lunch we decided to have a little fun and head to pole position right next to palms place. We ended up racing a couple laps and had a great time, those things are so damn fast for electric karts. Later on Saturday we ended up going to see phantom, I loved the movie and I loved the Broadway Show. The Phantom did a good job of capturing the essence of the full show in the short amount of time.

Sunday I got up early to go and get my badge and hooked up with Pheonix Morgan, Jermiah Cooper, and Robert Adler for a little lunch since the meet market was a little packed and decided to wait an hour instead of hitting it right at noon. After hitting the meet market I headed up to the xy7 party in one of the tower suites and hung out with my girl Alica and Jonathan Volk and a couple others till it was time for dinner. The ECM guys invited me over for dinner over at Toby Keiths Bar and Grill. Then we headed to the sharasale party at tryst and had an awesome time, I had a video of some women dancing on one of the poles but I don’t think I’m gonna post it lol.  Afterwards we headed over to the a4d dough for hoes party. Had a great time there and then headed back to the hotel to call it a night.

Monday I got up and hit the floor and made my rounds to all the booths. I made some new contacts but overall I expected the conference to be bigger for vegas, its not nyc that’s for sure. After the conference I had dinner with some close friends at Red Square and then we headed over to the aff ball party. I ended staying at the aff ball party all night and ended up going home after some gambling.

Tuesday was pretty much the same running around the show to see if I missed anything and then I headed over to the sports bar in the Wynn to hand with some wickedfire guys. Overall it was a pretty nice conference, Vegas always makes everything nice and is a great venue for affiliate summit. I had a great time overall tho some aspects of the trip were a big disappointment but there was nothing I could do about that. It was another time of the year to catch up with old friends, make new ones, and strengthen business relationships. One thing I have noticed is I’m seeing alot of new faces in the crowd and sometimes some of the old faces are fading away. People will fade away and this industry continually evolves and you have to evolve with it, if you don’t you end up getting off the train, are you holding on or are you watching the train go by?
