I just got got out of a conference call meeting with Matthew Hill and the Executive Team over at www.liquidweb.com to discuss Storm On Demand and the future of cloud hosting. Liquidweb will be adding some new features and addons to Storm On Demand in the coming months and they wanted to run these by me since I’ve been with them for so long and have been such a valuable customer of theirs.
We discussed the different features of their Storm on Demand product and where it will head in the future. I talked about possibly adding a cdn as currently I use amazon for that. I had expressed my displeasure with the time associated with resizing an existing instance or creating a new instance. They told me that just recently they implemented a new sizing scheme that reduces the amount of downtime now. I also expressed the fact that they don’t ability to have a windows environment on cloud just yet but they told me it is definitely coming soon. One thing that I was insistent on was that they have a prescience at adtech and affiliate summits. I’ve seen softlayer at some of these events but I don’t like them at all and I would rather see a company that provides heroic support such as Liquidweb at these events instead.
I’ve been a liquidweb client for over 7 years and while over this time I have had servers at other locations and datacenters the service and support I’ve received from liquidweb has been top notch. I have never had to pay for a support ticket the techs have always been helpful, and I’ve always been able to get someone on the phone within mere minutes after calling into their support or sales line.
My history at Liquidweb has encompassed vps’s and shared accounts, to dedicated servers and cloud instances using their storm on demand product. There was at one point when I had close to 15 servers at Liquidweb and was paying a buttload of cash a month. I’ve always been treated well by their techs and even though there had or have been mistakes in the past they have always done something to make it right. I have recommended so many people to their dedicated hosting and cloud solutions it isn’t funny. I later found out that they have a referral program but I haven’t signed up nor do I intend to. Why should I be rewarded for excellent support and service when its a daily occurrence for them. I just ask them to keep doing what they are doing. I haven’t had a server company go above and beyond like they have and to this day they will continue to be my first call for any type of hosting. If you are looking at hosting either dedicated, cloud, vps, or shared head over to www.liquidweb.com and try them out.

I agree with you 1000%. has it been 100% perfect. No! Has the support and response been better than any shared or dedicated I have been with HELL YES!!! They have even undone damage thought to be impossible by the software creators (fixed and restored FOR FREE severely damaged CPVLABS DB [no, we STILL don't know what happened?!]) I have had their techs huddled down with me at 12:01 NYE working on a server issue when I moved from a TERRIBLE hosting service that cost me thousands to their dedicated that except for the credit card charge. I hardly notice its there. Because, it just keeps on going and going and going (like a server should). I hope the only continue to strive and deliver EPIC customer support. Great Post… AGAIN… Morgan
I don’t know. I’ve been kinda hit or miss with their customer support. Benny from Twitter has been awesome though. Their new resize for storm left my server down for awhile at the beginning. In the past it’s been like 10-15 minutes at the end, so I sent off a support ticket and support basically was like ‘everything is working properly. It’s an automated process that we have no control over and there’s no downtime until the end!” Too bad it was currently down at the time. Total resize time ended up taking like 8 hours, but I went from a huge server to a way smaller one. Had traffic paused the entire time. In the end, Benny let me know about the new changes though.
I still like them for managed servers though. Huge huge fan of softlayer for unmanaged been with them for 5-6 years.
Oh, and they were suppose to send me a coffee mug from one of their swag contests but they ran out. Not that I’m complaining about free stuff.
Liquidweb is awsome but they really got to stop using PIMS.
They’re hands down better than those clowns at rackspace though.
I’ve been with them for over 2 years, and only recently moved from a dedi to their SOD solution. So far so good
And indeed, their support is second to none!
Love them, never using another host again. That is all.
Liquid web hosting looks like a great software to have for your hosting.. I shall check them out.. sounds like they are really doing an excellent job.
