I bought a new scale that has wifi, yes a scale that has wifi…..

So there is this cool website called www.withings.com that has a wifi enabled scale. Basically this thing after you step on it gets your weight body fat percent and body mass index and uploads it to its website. I’ve been watching what I eat ever since I came back from adtech san fran and I’ve lost a total of  15lbs. It helps track everything for you and it can track multiple users. Then you can log into the website, share your graph or even use a free iphone app and look at your progress online. Take a look at a video of it...

Day 4 of trip to ADTech San Fran

Day 4 of trip to ADTech San Fran

Apr 24, 2010

Today was the opening day of the conf and I wanted to hit the floor early. Or what I call early. I got there at around 11am with about 2 hours to walk around because I wanted to hit up wichcraft for the affbuzz birthday party at 1pm. Now most aff’s don’t have a plan and just start wandering around. I really don’t understand this as you want to cover as much ground as possible and have a systematic approach. Also sometimes its easier to talk to people at booths alone. Right now in this industry stuff is getting hard for everyone on finding new traffic sources. So I went in and started at the first booth on the far right and just started walking up and down. Walking around was crazy and it was so hard to talk to some people it was so crowded. Around 12pm I met up with Laura and Mike from www.Getads.com and talked some business for a little bit. I had only gotten to see about 1/4 of the booths in that hour I was there. I decided to press on and continue making my way through the crowd. It started getting towards 1pm and I only made it half way through and we had to go to the affbuzz party. The affbuzz party was bumping. There were alot of people there and we basically overtook the upper floor of wichcraft. The majority of people on affbuzz showed up including myself. Credits for the pics go to http://johnathanvolk.com/ as he was running around with the biggest grin I ever seen taking pics like an asian mad man with his iphone. I met alot of people and introduced myself and a great time was had by all but it was getting to 2pm and it was time to head back to the conf to walk the floor again as I had only walked half way at this point. I headed back to the conf and walked around some more. It was good to see some old friends and make some new ones. I stopped at all my usual booths to see the networks I know and work with. Riley Pool dickrolls/meatspins the facebook ad review team lol

Mar 8, 2010

Riley Pool, an affiliate marketer and friend, got an interesting email from his facebook am and the ad review team over at facebook. Apparently he has the dickroll flash on the main index of his tracking domain or redirecting to makemoniesonline.  There have been plenty of times that I felt like dickrolling the review team for stupid reasons and what not but this is just hilarious. Somtimes the ad review team just deserves it. I’ve had ads that were disapproved saying that there was inappropriate language in the ad text when what it ended up being was that the persons age was in the title of the ad.  Just a fair warning whatever you do don’t visit the url below I warned you. Hi Riley, I work on the Ad Review team here at Facebook. I’d like to explain that when ads are submitted in large batches with different URLs, our system displays the root domain. In this case, the default is your index page which, at this time, features pornography. Our users never see this page, and we only see it as part of the way our system matches ads with landing pages. While you are by no means required to change this page, we’d greatly appreciate if you altered the content as a courtesy. Since we do review your ads on a regular basis, we are subject to this video. We apologize for any confusion. Thanks, Molly Online Sales Operations Facebook —–Original Message to Facebook—– From: Riley Pool () To: The Facebook Team Subject: Re: Pornography on tracking page You nor your users should ever see that page. And since I have unauthorized people trying to access that page and trying to fraudulently hack my tracking system I have my TLD redirected to that page. I monitor all traffic to that page in an attempt to track down these people who are trying to hack my tracking server so I would apreciate it if you don’t ever visit my main index page. Week two down of having Diabetes

Week two down of having Diabetes

Feb 23, 2010

Well its week two after having learned I have Diabetes and all seems to be going well. I’ve been testing my blood sugar level about 5-6 times a day. I’m learning what not to eat and what I can eat and what food doesn’t mix well with my medication I’m taking. The iphone app glucose buddy located at http://www.glucosebuddy.com/ has been so helpful to me its not even funny and its one of the only apps I’d actually buy if it weren’t free. Below is an updated graph of my glucose level. On sunday it went up a little and that was the day I was at the concert. There wasn’t’ that much healthy food at the wachovia center but I ate what I could and had a great time at the John Mayer concert. I’m contemplating getting an id bracelet. I’ve noticed one thing is that there aren’t any really cool or trendy id bracelets. Most of the ones at least for guys look horrible. I did find one I like but I’m still iffy on it. I mean girls they got everythign from home crafted shit on ebay to like cool ass tiffany looking silver id bracelets. The one I found after searching for a whiel is made by american medical id or something like that. A picture of it is below. I think I’m going to get it. What do you guys...

Week one down of having Diabetes and a cool iphone app for diabetics

Week one down of having Diabetes and a cool iphone app for diabetics

Feb 15, 2010

I’ve somewhat got it under control. I’ve changed my eating habits and I’ve been started on medication. I went to see the dietitian and the nurse last week to learn how to use a testing meter and know what I can/cannot eat as well as how much. Every time I took my glucose level I had to write it down and it started becoming a pain trying to find a pen or keeping a pen with me and writing down on a piece of paper so I searched the app store on my iphone and found Glucose Buddy. Its a cool little app that lets me track everything and considering I have to test my sugar level about 5-7 times a day it was a godsend. If you look at the graph below courtesy of the glucose buddy app you can see how with a little control of my diet and the medication I’ve been able to drop my glucose level and slowly bring it down to safe levels over the course of a couple...
