Day 1 of trip to ADTech San Fran

Day 1 of trip to ADTech San Fran

Apr 17, 2010

I had to get up early in the morning to fly from IPT to SFO. Considering I fly from my small airport in my town I have to fly in to the nearest lager airport which is PHL. So I had to get up at 7 am to make sure I got to the airport on time. I don’t usually get up that early. So I get to the airport and fly to Philly and when I get here I have a 4 hour layover, yes my plane got in at 10am and I don’t leave Philly until 2pm great. So I decide to head up to the club lounge for us airways and chill there for the next 4 hours waiting for my next flight. I grabbed a beer and a smoked turkey sandwich.  The prices in thr club lounge are outragous but what can you do I’m not sitting down at the gat looking for an outlet for 4 hours. Just to give you an example of prices in the club lounge of us airways a corona is 5 bucks but the house beer, bud or bud lite, is only a dollar meh oh well bud lite it is. I hop on skype an talk to my man sohan since his flight got canceled to the us due to the big ash cloud covering most of Europe at this point.  It comes time to leave and I went take a piss before I head down to my gate so I head to the bathrooms in the club lounge and low and behold there are no urinals just fucking stalls. Ok whatever just whip it out and take a piss which I do. I go back outside after taking a piss and notice its the women’s bathroom FML. Time to get on my plane, first class thank god, fat man needs room on the plane. I mean seriously I’m not one of hose guys that need another seat or my left ass cheek but first class on us airways is by no means first like on virgin or other airlines but its better then coach. So her I*m chilling and I get my vodka...

Man from France hitchhikes through 33 states in the USA and gives an unbiased view of our country and culture….

Apr 16, 2010

Its interesting to hear someone elses view on something when usually you are in the middle of things and they are on the outside looking in. This can apply to affiliate marketing as well. Having an opinion from someone not in our industry on a landing page or angle of how we decide to market a product/service is beneficial in testing and gauging response.  This gentleman has traveled other countries hitchhiking so his view isn’t so one sided as he’s been to many other countries, and from reading his impressions of the USA, isn’t one of those fuck you I have Americans french people. After Adtech London a couple affiliate friends and I hopped over to Paris and Monaco and the people in Paris were rude and didn’t give a crap about us until we tried to speak a little french. I’m not saying all French people are rude and hate Americans but we wern’t treated very nice in France atleast in Paris. Anyway back to the reason for this post. I found it interesting on how he views our culture, its definatly a must read. Head on over to http://www.tour-du-monde-autostop.fr/carnet_de_bord-details_en.php?id=50 and read his...

Automation Series Part Two: JitBit Macro Recorder and getting started

Automation Series Part Two: JitBit Macro Recorder and getting started

Mar 1, 2010

Ok class ready to take notes? Let me apologize in advance to mac users as I use pc’s for mostly everything I do. Yes I do have a macbook pro but I use that for mostly stat checking and stuff while I’m away. These programs are for pc’s and unless you install vmware or parallels on your mac you won’t be able to follow this tutorial. Jitbit macro recorder is a really basic macro recorder that allows you to carry out simple simple tasks that don’t require very specific trigger events. Now as I discussed in my earlier post in part one a macro is basically a set of mouse and keyboard commands that are played in a particular order. Now for this first tutorial we are gonna go over submitting some ads to facebook using jitbit macro recorder. Now I know that there is already things like facebook ad manager out there that does some stuff like this but I’m using facebook because almost everyone has a facebook account and by following this tutorial you can apply it to other social media networks. Now if you look below you can see a general overview of JitBit. What we are going to focus on is the “start recording” button. Whats gonna happen is when you press this Jitbit is gonna start recording all your keyboard and mouse movements and keys pressed.       Now to start we are going to open up firefox and go to facebook but make sure you maximize firefox to the screen. Don’t login to facebook yet we want to record this step. Now before you click “start recording” remember when you go up to the browser to enter in www.facebook.com make sure you click and highlight the whole url for your default homepage. By doing this if the macro messes up due to lag or something it won’t messup typing the url in and fuck up the whole process before its even started. Now what we are going to do now is click “start recording” and you want to go up to the address bar highlight the address and type in facebook.com then go down and enter in...

Went to see Shutter Island Lastnight at the movies.

Went to see Shutter Island Lastnight at the movies.

Feb 26, 2010

What can i say the movie was one word, awesome. I was on the  edge of my seat the whole time and the amount of twists and turns the movie had i didn’t see completely coming. I did know that some things were up but it wasn’t something that bothered me or was completely obvious. I must say going in I had my skepticism due to his recent past with movies but this did good overall. It has been a while since Leonardo has done a movie but this was a well thought out plot and kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time. Martin Scorsese did a wonderful job and I highly recommend it. I give it a 8/10. You can see the trailer...

American Express Platinum and choosing something to buy with the points…..

American Express Platinum and choosing something to buy with the points…..

Feb 11, 2010

American Express Platinum is the card I use for my business, EDK Innovations Inc. and is the sole card I use. I know alot of affiliate marketers like to use the starwood card, plum card, gold card, or even the exclusive black card(no not the visa ripoff one). Over the past couple months I’ve racked up a couple hundred thousand points using this card. Last time I went and bought something using my points I got the best macbook pro they had in the reward area. Now by nature I’m a pc guy all the way but I noticed alot of affiliate marketers were using macs. I myself have worked on macs and fixed macs in my previous jobs working for the government before I became an affiliate marketer but I have never actually USED one. I figured if I don’t like it I can always sell it. Anyway I want to get something but I don’t know what to get. I mean they have a fridge I can get that’s 385,000 points and its right there on the front page but what do I need a fridge for? Or what about a new tv? I currently got my hd projector setup in the office which is supposed to go into the theater in the basement but its not finished yet. Maybe a tv at my new offline business? Hmm think about that one…. I know what about some more monitors lol I could always use those… I dunno we’ll see, what do you think I should...
