StackThatMoney Forum and what its worth to you.

May 2, 2011

A bit ago Jordan sent out an email saying that there were a couple spots that opened up on his private affiliate forum and I decided to check it out and see what was going on there. I’m a member of a couple private forums for affiliates where we share info but for this post I’m going to focus on StackThatMoney’s private paid forum. Well I have been signed up to jordan’s aka stackthatmoney’s forum for a couple weeks now and I must say its one of the best resources I’ve come across in a private paid aff forum. The forum is filled with tons of useful info for the beginner and the seasoned marketer such as myself. I’ve known about his forums for a while and just recently was able to get into the forums as a member and contributing member. Among the various members Jordan and other individuals share info and ideas. Topics in the forums range from well documented case studies and traffic sources, to better techniques and ways to attack campaigns. A Lot of the topics in the forums covers facebook but there are also guides and studies for ppv. I must say its definitely a forum where everyone contributes. Different ideas are discussed and everyone is very open in sharing their results and how much they made on their campaigns. The thing is there is always room to somehow squeeze out more from someone elses campaign. These forums aren’t about just copying a campaign and making money, its about teaching a man how to fish, not giving him one for a day. When more spots open up be sure to grab one, I highly recommend...

It was my birthday, so I went to VEGAS…..

It was my birthday, so I went to VEGAS…..

Aug 11, 2010

So it was my birthday this past weekend and as I type this I’m having room service eating pizza making a post on the blog and taking a break from working. I flew into vegas on Friday of last week and due to aircraft maintenance I missed my connecting flight in philly. They put me up at a hotel and luckily they had first class seats available again the next day to Vegas. Though I am IN Vegas this week I’m not actually partying and drinking it up. I been working on alot of new things and researching offers and traffic sources for new campaigns. I been working during that day in the room, then going out to dinner at night hitting up the strip and then back to bed to do it all again the next day. In addition to doing this I’m also putting together and organizing an ASE affiliate dinner in nyc. My plate is pretty full up until ASE this week as well as the planned events and meetings I have at ASE. Right now I’m staying at the four seasons in vegas. Its a really really nice hotel. It was just as good if not better then the one in NYC I stayed at recently. Well back to the grind. Here are some pics below of the...

GetAds, Denver CO Meetup202, and the new office.

GetAds, Denver CO Meetup202, and the new office.

Jul 23, 2010

So this week I took a flight out to the Getads offices to hang out with them for a bit and speak to the crew, do a little seminar, and give them some insight on PPV and different traffic sources. Being an affiliate manager can be hard sometimes when you’ve always been on one side of the fence. Many people come to this industry as affiliate managers and have no prior experience or, even tho there are some, have never been affiliates themselves. PPV can be a hard topic to grasp and if you have never done it being able to get in on it can be troublesome if you have to learn on your own. I was happy that George and the crew invited me out for a good time and I decided to stay for the first ever Denver meetup202. My presentation lasted for a little over an hour and I covered everything from very basic info to server setup and optimizing for ppv and prosper to php coding and smart and unique ways to take an offer and spin it for different demographics. After we went out to fogo de chao for lunch and it was the first time I had ever been. I was pretty amazed and had an awesome time. The meetup202 for being the first one and hosted by Getads was a completely success. Alot of people showed up from different companies in the area and a good amount of affiliates showed up including myself. George gave a motivation speech in the conference room describing what the industry is where its headed and if you want it bad enough you can reach your goal. The mood was inviting and friendly, everyone was in good spirits, and jokes among coworkers and new comers bounced around the room as we introduced ourselves. Everyone had a good time. One of the affiliate managers, Mike, from getads decided to lighten the mood by sporting some clothes in a true spirit of trying to revive the 80’s. If you have a meetup in your area I highly suggest meeting with people and mingling. Its nice to be able to meet people who aspire...

Day 5 of trip to ADTech San Fran

Day 5 of trip to ADTech San Fran

Apr 30, 2010

So after having a great night and partying it up at the ppc.bz party I went back to walk to floor of the conf again. It was strange because I’d say there were about 1/3 of the people there walking around compared to the day before. It was alot easier to talk to people and get one on one time with new traffic sources. I also found it was easier to discuss marketing offers without other affiliates overhearing. It really sucks when  conf is only a couple days, well 2 at the most. Everything happens the first night and nothing usually the second. Conferences should be a mandatory 3 days so that there are enough things to do and enough time to go to the parties. It truly sucks when friends and companies fly in the day before and bounce the last day of the conf. The best part of the conference is being with people who get you, who understand you, and understand your business. Where we are from its hard to find people like us who do what we do especially at some of our ages who we can relate to. So I walked around and picked up some schwag from some of the networks I work with. Eleah over at akmg was sporting their skate decks in style as always. I talked to her for a little on the floor. Poor thing she thought that the floor opened earlier than it did and ended up being really really early. I met up later with Laura from getads and picked up a hat from her as she was walking around. Alot of the hats and stuff you see being passed out are the cheap trucker mesh hats (I like this hat, its not cheap and is different than the other crappy ones being handed out). Its kinda of a cheap pain to have these and you know how much a network spent on some of this stuff. Being in this business for as long as I have you pass over alot of the shit you see due to having gotten or picked it up before. All the breath mints, weird shot drinks, doohickeys,...

Day 4 of trip to ADTech San Fran

Day 4 of trip to ADTech San Fran

Apr 24, 2010

Today was the opening day of the conf and I wanted to hit the floor early. Or what I call early. I got there at around 11am with about 2 hours to walk around because I wanted to hit up wichcraft for the affbuzz birthday party at 1pm. Now most aff’s don’t have a plan and just start wandering around. I really don’t understand this as you want to cover as much ground as possible and have a systematic approach. Also sometimes its easier to talk to people at booths alone. Right now in this industry stuff is getting hard for everyone on finding new traffic sources. So I went in and started at the first booth on the far right and just started walking up and down. Walking around was crazy and it was so hard to talk to some people it was so crowded. Around 12pm I met up with Laura and Mike from www.Getads.com and talked some business for a little bit. I had only gotten to see about 1/4 of the booths in that hour I was there. I decided to press on and continue making my way through the crowd. It started getting towards 1pm and I only made it half way through and we had to go to the affbuzz party. The affbuzz party was bumping. There were alot of people there and we basically overtook the upper floor of wichcraft. The majority of people on affbuzz showed up including myself. Credits for the pics go to http://johnathanvolk.com/ as he was running around with the biggest grin I ever seen taking pics like an asian mad man with his iphone. I met alot of people and introduced myself and a great time was had by all but it was getting to 2pm and it was time to head back to the conf to walk the floor again as I had only walked half way at this point. I headed back to the conf and walked around some more. It was good to see some old friends and make some new ones. I stopped at all my usual booths to see the networks I know and work with. Brittany...
